1973 BLUE Homelite C-52 chainsaw

Helping a friend clean out his dad’s garage and came across an old chainsaw collecting dust on a shelf.  It appeared intact and still turned over with good compression.

The layer of chain oil and sawdust had preserved the saw and it looked much better after it had a bath.  Given it had no spark, I am assuming that is why it was not used recently.  The old gas had evaporated and varnished the inside tank…so thick it peeled off in a sheet.

I replaced the fuel lines and upgraded the points with an electronic ignition.  Adding a dog spike completed the initial restoration.
